Rooted in an equity-focused approach, we strengthen, support, and connect conservation organizations and practitioners in Wabanaki homelands, now called Maine.
We envision a world where land is returned, restored, and stewarded – providing climate resilience, care for nature, community health, and more just and joyful communities. We expand what is possible through the exploration of people and our connection to the natural world, and work collaboratively with partners to restore the primacy of our relationship with the earth and restore sovereignty to Indigenous people.

Just as biodiversity strengthens natural systems, we believe that the conservation movement is made stronger by the contributions of communities and people historically and systematically left out.
We believe that power needs to be shifted, and practices profoundly changed. To facilitate this, our offerings are often experimental and disruptive, as we know that taking risks and charting new pathways is often necessary to catalyze lasting change.
We support organizations and conservation practitioners through grantmaking and mobilizing resources, educating donors, and conducting research to deepen community connections and encourage innovation, and shift organizational and sector-wide culture.
We strengthen organizations, individuals, and communities by providing educational programming, environmental and equity-related resources, and direct support to facilitate growth and transformative change.

We connect organizations and community members through intentional convenings that facilitate networking, shared learning, and relationship building across difference in order to strengthen the equitable conservation movement.

We believe in brave action, taking risks and trying new things, and we know that courage is called for from each of us, each and every day. We believe that we must lean into the discomfort that accompanies change and disruption – knowing that we will learn, grow, succeed, and sometimes fail.
We believe that in order to care for the land and people, we need to take care of ourselves, each other, and our communities. For us, care is a relational, embodied way of being; it requires intention, presence, and patience and is embedded into all of our actions and systems.
We believe there is wisdom in the interconnectedness of the natural world and we work to mirror and learn from it to support resilience incommunities, individuals and organizations.
We believe in embracing the fullness of life and community – what we have is enough to move us into a world as we imagine it can and ought to be.
We believe in multi-dimensional curiosity: being curious about ourselves, each other, groups, systems, and the world. We acknowledge that asking questions and continually learning enables us to undo assumptions, challenge the status quo, and find creative paths forward.
We believe that our work is possible and sustainable because of the people and relationships that keep us energized and moving forward together. We embrace joy as an operating system and welcome momentsof fun, laughter, and levity.
